I created The Zillennial Perspective to offer a safe space for women navigating life in their 20s. After up and moving to the big city at 22, I met so many wonderful Zillennial women who were in the same semi-sinking boat as I was—struggling to adult our way through a maze of questionable life decisions and endlessly confusing Google maps directions. Zillennials are women such as myself, who are a mix of Gen Z and Millennials but not really completely one or the other, we’re like the middle child of generations.
Too often, this decade can feel isolating and confusing—whether you’re moving to a new city, living at home, trying to adult, navigating the dating scene, trying to figure out what you want to be when you grow up, or embarking on your own personal journey—it can be, as Dickens once so poetically put it, ‘the best of times and the worst of times.’ Absolutely everything is changing all the time and in 2024, life is anything but simple. If your life also feels like a series of question marks and never-ending plot twists, then you’ve most certainly come to the right place.
So, I invite you to grab your oversized blanket, pour a glass of sauvignon blanc (or, you know, whatever’s left in the fridge from last week), turn on those dim, borderline-romantic lights, and settle on in. Whether you’re here for the random bits of advice, the relatable reflections, or just to feel like someone else gets it, I hope these stories and posts make you laugh, feel inspired, or simply nod along, and say, “girl, same!”
And lastly, above all, welcome to your safe space—The Zillennial Perspective, where all the chaos and beauty of your roaring 20s is always welcome, and absolutely no topic is off-limits. I am so happy you’re here and I welcome you to join me in experiencing the magic and abject messiness of this decade they call our 20s.
